Maintenance

For operators the maintenance and up-keep of tower infrastructures are challenges and an additional cost factor which requires the stationing of skilled personnel wherever the towers are erected. With our long standing experience in tower maintenance and our wide network of support offices, we are in an excellent position to offer cost effective maintenance services.

To ensure the quality of our maintenance service, all of our technicians and field officers undergo intensive training courses in their main field role. Their expertise is continuously upgraded through follow-up training courses. We make sure that our crew are well-equipped, not only to provide excellent service to every customer, but also to ensure the safety of all our staff.

For client satisfaction, we give full service operation and maintenance with a guaranteed service level. Our flexible contracts cover either periodical preventative maintenance or incidental maintenance, or both. In the case of preventative maintenance services, our tower experts will make scheduled visits to client’s tower and scrutinize all the equipment and infrastructure to make sure everything is in perfect working condition.

Applying the newest technology, called Site Management Center, tower locations can be monitored more effectively. A strategically placed sensor will issue an alert in case of unauthorized access, electricity failure, high temperature or failures in a tower’s lighting equipment. Once we are notified of any disturbance at any tower, our technician will be on site in less than 90 minutes to investigate the problem, report the cause and take corrective measures if necessary.

    1. If an interference/repair progress occurs on-site, the sensor will send a signal to the SMS Controller
    2. The SMS Controller sends a message of interference to the Central Office and the Field Technician
    3. Repair progress is reported to the SMS Controller
    4. Interference data is received by the SMS Gateway and saved in the Database Server
    5. The Database Server will show the data on GIS and an AMG map
    6. The SMS Gateway requests and receives confirmation of the interference message from the Field Technician
    7. The SMS Gateway sends an interference message to the Central Office
    8. The Field Technician goes directly to the site to effect repairs

In case of a failure in the tower primary power supply, Indonesian Tower has a fleet of mobile back up power units that can be quickly dispatched to the locations. Using this facility, the operator won’t have to worry about a power supply failure causing lost revenue.

Acknowledging the importance of energy efficiency, we have already implemented permanent shelters using well-insulated material in order to reduce energy usage of the air conditioning system by up to 50%.

Understanding that to prevent is better than to fix, Indonesian Tower implements preventive maintenance instead of break-down maintenance. Predictive maintenance—which will deliver a more effective and efficient service—is projected to be implemented in 2010.

All these factors of Indonesian Tower’s service excellence have ensured that our maintenance services have quickly gained acceptance among operators who seek to run their infrastructure more efficiently. In 2008, we successfully achieved a 70,65% client satisfaction rate.
